Serious entrepreneurs have ‘programmed’ their mind to succeed no matter what. They don’t lack focus on their home-based business and let nobody stop their plans in achieving what they want.

They know what they want and they have the DESIRE to succeed. If you don’t know exactly what you want when it comes your home-based business, think about it again and re-consider your plans, what you want to achieve, a get-rick-quick or a profitable, long term business.

2. It’s their start-up plan that brings success

Smart entrepreneurs know that it takes time to set-up and grow a profitable home-based business. They plan to succeed. They have a start-up plan that might fail but they never give up and start again with a better plan.

Serious entrepreneurs know that it takes discipline and time to build a strong and solid home-based business, which delivers ongoing income through many years to come.

3. It’s their initial RESEARCH that brings success

Smart and serious entrepreneurs know the importance of market research. They know that in order, for a home-based business to succeed, they have to research their target market (their potential customers) and study their competitors.

Research your target market and study your competitors in order to have a long-term, profitable home-based business.

Know what your customers want and give it to them. Keep an eye on your competitors, study their offer(s) and make sure you come up with a better deal than them.

Study each successful entrepreneur in your marketing field and you’ll notice how they market online / offline.

Each of them have their own ‘unique’ marketing strategy but they use the same basic principles.

Don’t re-invent the wheel. Use the main marketing concepts that are proven to work but try to improve and adjust them to your own situation. Make them work for your home-based business. Make your offer better and unique than your competitiors if you want to WIN in this business, or simply quit (I know that’s no what you really want!)

The Secrets of Million Dollar Home Based Business Opportunities…

That’s right…there really are million dollar home based business opportunities out there. Where? Well to be honest they’re everywhere! Just like beauty being in the eye of the beholder so is opportunity. Opportunity really does greet us at every corner we turn! Opportunities are even laid out for us step by step and yet most of us either don’t see them or don’t believe what do see.

You see the real secret is…

all home based business opportunities are million dollar opportunities. It’s all in what you make of them. So let me give you a not so common example of what I mean by this….

I’m current in the midst of reading “Brining Down the House” by Ben Mezrich. If you are not familiar with the story then let me give you a quick summary. The story revolves around six college student that devised a way to beat the odds playing black jack in Las Vegas. They became so good at this task that over the years they won millions and were never detected.

Wow I thought…

Six kids created an extremely lucrative business out of playing black jack in Las Vegas.

Now normally…

Casinos make billions of dollars from having favorable odds in there table games each and every year, yet these six students discovered how to turn those odds in their favor and exploited that opportunity for millions.

They took a situation where the average person would have concluded rationally that there was no opportunity to win and they won. These six college students literally devised a way to change the odds and then created a “system” to ensure that they would succeed. In Las Vegas, no one is supposed to win, but they did!

So let me ask you a question,

If a bunch of college kids can make millions against the odds why can’t you and I make millions when all the odds are in our favor?

Most home based business opportunities offer turnkey solutions that give the average person the most favorable chance possible of creating a profit in there home business. Yet, even with the odds in their favor most people still fail in there home based business attempts.

Why?

Greed… Most people think that all they have to do is pay a few dollars and then money is going to start knocking at there door. Well, you and I know that’s not how it works…

What I failed to mention above about “Bringing Down the House” was that the students trained rigorously on the inner most details of there system before taking it live to Las Vegas. They were prepared for anything and everything and they literally new their system by heart. They set themselves up for success before the ever took a chance! (and that’s the key too success when it come down to it)

Most home business entrepreneurs do the opposite. They don’t prepare at all. They put there money on the line, they don’t learn the “system”, and then they fail. Then they claim they failed because the “system” didn’t work. Well, it’s my opinion that most home based business entrepreneurs fail not because the “system” didn’t work, but rather because they didn’t work the system correctly.

Don’t let this happen to you in your home business efforts. Please feel assured that if you’ve had proper preparation and you work your system long enough then the odds will end up on your side.

So the secret to running million dollar home based business opportunities is very simple and can be summed up in 5 simple steps:

•Spot an opportunity

•Create or take advantage of a system to exploit that opportunity

•Prepare thoroughly to exploit that opportunity

•Then work your system with the odds are in your favor until you make a profit

Wrestling with Home Based Business Opportunities!

What’s that you say? You say your home business has you frustrated and at your wits end. You say no matter what you try you it seems you’re only making the network marketing companies and those guru guys richer. Well, you’re probably right. But, so what!

Here’s a little story I’d like to relate to you about my own life and it has nothing to do with home based businesses. Though, by then end you should be able to draw a few parallels.

As a kid in the sixth grade I weight 198 pounds and I was teased like most fat kids. I hated it. At that time, I played football and I wrestled (heavyweight of course). I was the worst kid on both teams. I hated sports and I probably hated myself for the most part too. Even the coaches made fun of me. I really felt like I had no one on my side. Life sucked.

That went on for a few years. Then in the eighth grade I got a new wrestling coach. A short Russian man named Alex who was very hard to understand until you got use to his deep accent. I still was the worst kid on both the football and wrestling team, but for the first time in my life the coach didn’t make fun of me. This guy actually looked out for me.

Call it coincidence, but by the end of wrestling season eighth grade year, I had lost 45 pound and actually looked forward to wrestling the next year. I still wasn’t that good, but I didn’t hate the sport anymore. The next year I didn’t play football, but I started going to wrestling camps every summer and I even took notes. I note here, it wasn’t until I went to camp and started to take notes that I really learned the fundamentals of the sport.

Each year I progressively got better from that point on. My junior year in high school I was named to the all county team. By my senior year, I was named to the All-State and All-America team. I even went on to wrestle NCAA Div I for four years in college. Not bad for a fat kid. Get this, my senior year in college I wrestled in the 197lb weight class. That’s less than I weighed as a sixth grader!

I tell you this little story first to take your mind of your home business woes, but second to illustrate a few points to you. One person can change your life if you let them. Finding a good mentor that will support you even at your lowest points is worth more than any amount of money can buy. But, don’t expect that mentor to have all the answers. Go out and learn what you need. Make sure you’re fully versed in the fundamentals. After this your only limiting factor will be you.

One more thing, I started wrestling when I was 12 and I wasn’t that good until I was 18. Developing the proper skill sets that will work for you based on the fundamentals will take time. But if you take that time, the rewards will vastly outweigh the short term growing pains of getting there. If your home based business sucks right now, so what? Wrestle with it!

The Right Way to Start a Home Based Business

Starting a new business is scary, exhilarating, challenging and at times downright confusing. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the huge number of tasks in front of you. When you get in that state, step back and think, “What can I do today that will get my message in front of my customers?” If you’re thinking about this all the time, the other details will fall into place.

The first thing you need to do is decide on the goals for your business. What do you personally want to get out of it? How many hours do you want to work? How many employees do you want to have? How much money do you want to make? The idea here is to get as clear a vision as possible of what your business will look like when it is established so you’ll know what needs to be done to get there. For a very clear step-by-step method to do this, I highly recommend a program called E-Myth.

Next, do the math. So many people—including me—have learned the hard way that the business they created is not capable of meeting the goals they set for themselves. To help avoid this problem, do some market research to determine how much you’ll be able to charge for your product or service and what volume you’ll be able to sell. Think about how many hours you’ll be able to work in a day and get a rough idea of the maximum amount you could make. Once you have rough estimates for those figures, you can decide if the money you could make or the time you need to put in will be worth the effort. You’d be surprised at how many people spend years working in a business that is just not capable of becoming what they hoped it would, even if everything went perfectly.

Many new entrepreneurs think success is all about developing a great product or service, but actually it’s all about selling it. Before you spend tons of time and money developing your product, make a prototype or develop a clear and concise description of what it will be, and do some market research. Figure out who your prospective customers will be, and go talk to them! Ask questions. Find out what they’ll pay. Consider their feedback and modify your design accordingly. Look at other companies that are selling similar products or services. Find out what they charge, how they market and what their competitive advantage is. Go into their stores and watch their customers. Find out what they are doing and why, and how customers respond. Once you think you have a clear understanding of what the market wants, then move ahead with your product or develop your service.

You’ll also need to decide what kind of company structure will best fit your plans (S Corp., LLC, sole proprietorship and so on).

If possible, work out of your home for awhile or rent the minimum space and equipment necessary to run your business. It’s important to keep your overhead as low as possible, at least until things start to take off. Resist the temptation to rent a nice office and fill it with furniture and equipment. I used to think that was impressive, but I came to realize it was just expensive.
